Pipe and Tank Filling
- Fast
- Water-blocking
- Prevents gas build-up
Instead of digging out pipes or removing a tank manually Benefil offers safe, non-destructive services for decommissioning tanks and pipelines.
By using a single access point our operators fill the redundant pipe or tank, with minimal disruption to the surrounding environment, ensuring that it is securely sealed to prevent contamination, leaks or structural failure. This is all conducted by our team following the best industry standards and compliance with the latest safety regulations.
Besides being structurally supportive, our foam has a hydrophilic composition. This absorbs any residual hydrocarbon and stops pollution from developing over time in disused pipes and tanks.
Why do pipes and tanks need decommissioning?
Whatever your situation we’re committed to delivering reliable, non-disruptive and durable solutions.
Structural support
Nearby buildings and ground can be put at risk if a pipe or tank is left to degrade and weaken structurally. Instead it is safer to stabilise and reinforce the pipe or tank therefore protecting surrounding structures.
Washouts
When groundwater flows through a redundant pipe it will gradually leak at points where the pipes are connected. Because of this the soil erodes around the pipe creating a washout which could then develop into a sinkhole causing significant risk.
Gases
Gases can accumulate over time within disused gasline pipes and tanks, causing possibly explosive mixtures that breach the LEL (lower explosion limit).
Animal control
Empty pipelines like sewers are an attractive space for rodents to nest. Because of the potential for disease and general damage filling the pipe prevents animals from accessing the space and becoming a bigger problem.
